The Death Hero: Part 1

The severed foot and portion of leg hovered impossibly in the glass display like a dark trophy. Its flesh retained the light beige hue that marked it as having healthy living skin and was still covered in a sparse arrangement of dark wispy hairs that swayed slightly back and forth from the encapsulated wind currents. Exposed muscle tissue at the topmost part was dark red and would twitch nearly imperceptively, and two jagged ends of bone stretched out ahead of the rest. It had grown slowly over the past few months, piece by agonizing piece, starting with just the majority of his right big toe. Book Review: A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin

The point of this review is to convey my desire for you to read the book even if you have seen the show. If you don’t want to read the book then the Audible version is excellent. It is read by a man named Roy Dotrice and he does a great job of voicing the characters and makes the entire experience highly engaging. I ingest my books mostly via the paper form but listening to a book, when it is read well, can be an equally enthralling experience. I recommend A Game of Thrones to anyone who loves medieval drama and suspenseful intrigue.
